How to use my Studio?
Here is a short list of things that you should consider doing if you want your studio to run smoothly and attract new visitors. We advise you to read it carefully. You can also watch these useful and easy-to-follow video tutorials.
Image Size
This is really important. You have 10MB of web space available which is more than enough to create a decent portfolio. But if you use images which are not web optimized you could run into trouble and not be able to upload as many images as you want to. Here are instructions on how to save your images if using Photoshop:
- Image/Mode/RGB Color
- Image/Size – Width (or Height, depends on image format): 590 pixels, Resolution: 72 pixels/inch
- File/Save For Web – Quality: 60 (if saving as JPG)
And that’s it! Now you have web optimized image which is ready to be published on your profile. If you would rather have large images displayed on your pages (instead of thumbs linked to them) remember that the maximum image width, which will fit your Project’s column, is 590px.
Write your Projects regulary
Why? Because it is the only way for search engines to know that you are there – somewhere. Active content does matter. Boonika.net pages are SEO friendly but that is no guaranty for you. Another reason for posting recent Project is the possibility for them to end up on Boonika.net main page. Of course, Boonika editors will bring the final decision on that.
Setting your homepage
There are few options for setting your homepage. Here are some of them:
- Projects – having your Projects displayed on your homepage is a default
- Gallery – you can also use one of your galleries as your homepage
- Page – for example, you can use ‘About’ page as your home page
See ‘Set gallery page to be your home page’ video tutorial.
