Bari is a shaman monster slayer inspired by korean mythology. I visited that country twice and love the culture so I wanted to make something related.
Bari can charm monsters with her sanshin (instrument), and she likes to collect trophies from her encounters. She stole her weapon from a defeated dokkeabi monster and the tails from a kumiho (nine tailed fox). As she has been abandonned as a child, she developped some kind of detachment from the killing and the outside world. The only things finding favour with her are the animals of the mountain she lives in, and she does her best protecting them from the monsters roaming in the woods.
